Following the great successes of the Purchasing initiative Southeast Asia in 2022 to 2025, which led to new business relationships between German buyers and Southeast Asian suppliers, the digital B2B event series will continue in 2026. The event, commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), is a project-related measure within the framework of the market development program for SMEs and primarily targets small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Germany. Buying and supplying companies will meet in digital one-on-one meetings to discover new business opportunities between 15 June and 3 July 2026.
In collaboration with AHK partners from Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Laos, and Cambodia. BME will once again offer German companies targeted access to dynamic procurement markets in the region. Additional support comes from Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Cologne, Dortmund, Pfalz and Frankfurt, as well as the German Asia-Pacific Business Association (OAV). “In previous editions of the program, more than 700 B2B meetings were successfully held, with very positive feedback from both buyers and suppliers,” says Olaf Holzgrefe, Head of the International Department at BME.
In 2026, the B2B matchmaking meetings will focus on specific product groups, including: metal structures, cast and forged parts, stamped and bent components, injection-molded plastic and electronic parts, welded assemblies, production materials, assembled components, and engineered parts. IT and engineering services will also be part of the agenda. By concentrating on selected product categories, the event allows SMEs to tap into the regional supplier market in a qualified and efficient way. As such, it offers a valuable platform for identifying alternative sourcing options.
Ahead of the event, BME and the AHKs will not only scout qualified suppliers, but also support and prepare selected Southeast Asian companies through targeted supplier training sessions. Interested suppliers will receive direct insights from German buyers regarding specific needs, expectations, and procurement processes.

Register now at www.bmematchmaking.com and enter your requirements by completing or updating the RFI Questionnaire. After the supplier search is finished, you can select your B2B partners. The meetings between buyers and selected suppliers take place on a day of the buyers' preference within the three weeks of the event. All participants receive an individual meeting schedule and digital access data in advance.
